What the startup registry is

The GlobalStartUpsZW startup registry is a structured pathway for global community startups to be recognised, verified, and discovered by investors, sponsors, and ecosystem partners. Registration and registry review are separate steps: creating an account lets you build your profile, apply for events, and submit a registry application; it does not guarantee verified status by itself.

Who may apply

Any startup with a functioning team and a real product, service, or venture in progress may apply. University spin-outs, independent founders, and innovation-hub-affiliated ventures are all eligible.

Provisional vs. verified status

Provisional startups are discoverable on the platform but have not completed formal registry review. Verified startups have completed the full application, review, and approval process and hold an official registry number and certificate.

The verification process

  1. Create your account and startup profile.
  2. Submit a registry application with supporting evidence.
  3. A registry reviewer assesses your application against the standard or committee review route.
  4. A senior registry officer or committee chair confirms the recommendation.
  5. Once approved, your startup receives a registry number and a QR-verifiable certificate.

Required documents

Typical supporting documents include incorporation or business registration evidence, proof of address, ownership declarations, and, where applicable, financial statements. The exact requirements depend on your registry category.

Annual confirmation

Verified startups must complete an annual confirmation to keep their registry status current. Startups that do not confirm on time move through update-due and overdue status before eventual suspension; confirming promptly restores full verified status.

Registry certificate and QR verification

Every verified startup receives a certificate with a unique QR code. Anyone, including investors and partners, can scan or visit the public verification link to confirm a registry number is genuinely active.
